2. Required uniform and gear
Cleats, pads, specialty socks, bag. Ask what is mandatory vs "looks cool."
3. Travel
Count likely tournaments. Gas, food, maybe a hotel. One "away" weekend can beat the signup fee.
4. Photos and keepsakes
Optional until the packet makes your kid the exception.
5. Volunteer hours or buyout
Time you do not have, converted to cash.
6. Team fees and snack duty
Pizza nights, coach gifts, end-of-season party.
7. Misc buffer

Three emails that save you
Send one message:
- What did most families spend all-in last season?
- What is required vs optional?
- Is there scholarship, loaner gear, or a payment plan?
